Inlet Village is where Jupiter began. The town’s 2024 Community Redevelopment Plan (PDF) calls it the original town settlement, at the Jupiter Inlet, and says the area thrived as a fishing village and as the port for goods shipped along the Atlantic coast from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. Goods came off boats at a long wharf onto the Celestial Railroad, which ran between Jupiter and Juno Beach. It has its own Inlet Village zoning district on the town’s zoning map. This page also covers the town neighborhoods along U.S. 1 and the Intracoastal Waterway north of Indiantown Road and on the north bank of the Loxahatchee River: about 1,950 residential addresses in the town’s address layer, 61% condos, 29% single-family houses and the rest townhouses.
