The Town of Jupiter holds its ceremony at 9 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial on the municipal complex, 210 Military Trail, and streams it live on the town’s Facebook page. Palm Beach County public schools are closed, trash pickup runs as normal and Palm Tran runs its weekday schedule.

The town says the ceremony is to “pay tribute to all Veterans for their bravery and sacrifice.” It had not posted speakers, an emcee or a parking map for the 2026 ceremony when we checked on Oct. 12. We will add them when the town does.

The Veterans Memorial

The memorial sits on the town’s municipal complex, between the new Town Hall, the Jupiter Community Center and the Police Department, according to the town’s memorial page. It was dedicated on Veterans Day 2020. It includes:

  • a Gold Star Families plaque, honoring families who lost a spouse, parent, sibling or child while that person was serving in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • the Legacy Brick program, which lets families buy an engraved brick for a relative who served; details are on the town’s program page, linked from the memorial page
  • a live webcam and a virtual tour video

What is open and closed

  • Public schools: closed. The School District of Palm Beach County lists Nov. 11 as a fall holiday with no school and district offices closed. See our schools guide.

  • Palm Tran: weekday service; administrative offices closed.
  • Town offices and libraries: the town and the Palm Beach County Library System had not posted Veterans Day hours when we checked. Call the town at 561-746-5134 or the Jupiter Branch Library at 561-744-2301 before you go.

Jupiter’s World War II station

Jupiter’s own military history is on the ground at the lighthouse. A Florida Heritage Landmark marker beside the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum, placed by the town and the Florida Department of State, records that the U.S. Navy built a housing building there around 1939. During World War II, Navy personnel lived in it as part of a direction finding station known as “Station J,” which was developed to locate the German submarines that were torpedoing ships off the Florida coast. The marker says the station closed in July 1945.

The lighthouse and museum are open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Veterans Day falls on a Wednesday this year.
